20. Stamping, No More Knitting.

#20. Maintain a knitting stamping blog well enough to meet the standards of a webring make into the Stamping Top 50.
My love for knitting will never surpass my love for stamping. So this goal has changed.

I've been documenting my journey up the Stamping Top 50 list in this post. Six more spots left now and I'll be at #50! Very exciting...

Update including 3, 7, 24, 33, 61, 68, 83 and 90.

#3. Make Bug a rag doll with extra dresses she can change.
A girlfriend of mine has sewn the Bug a dolly and some clothes. She'll be sending her to us soon!
#7. Renew my Creating Keepsakes subscription.
I changed my mind and got myself a subscription to Better Homes & Garden's Scrapbooking, Etc. instead. I like their layouts better. CK is going in a strange direction...
#24. Find a simple, beautiful baby blanket pattern, knit 3x 1x.
Well, I was planning on making three of these, two for friends and one for our little baby boy, but it's taking way too long and the other babies have been born for months now. Oopsie. Here is an old update on the blanket's progress, with a picture: Baby Blanket. It's now as long as it is wide, but I want to keep going. I figure I'll be done with it in the Fall, when it will be needed.
#33. Plan a fifth year anniversary get-away.
Now that we've had our fourth year anniversary, my mind is on where we should go for our fifth! Yes, I'm that excited.
#61. Buy a new set of sheets that actually match the duvet cover.
We plan on purchasing a bigger bed in the next few months. When we do that, we'll need new sheets. We've decided on a light "dusty" blue color. Now we just have to find them.
#68. Teach Bug her letters by sight.
Done (at three years, one month)! I was slowly teaching her them one at a time when all the sudden, while looking through an alphabet book, she told me all the rest of them. We still think "W" is "M" sometimes but that's not as bad as thinking that it was an "S."
#83. Get DSL.
Yippee! We got a new phone service that includes DSL for what we were paying Verizon for their regular service. Rock on!
#90. Get new glasses before November 2005.
This didn't happen in time to go see Harry Potter and Narnia in the theaters, but we both got new glasses in April.

1. The Quilt.

#1. Finish Bug's Quilt.
This little project is something that's been in the works since I was pregnant with my daughter. She will be turning three next Sunday. I have just recently finished my quilt top, washed my bottom layer and finally started quilting! I hope that she can get some use out of this crib size quilt...before she has children of her own!

20. Knitting. No, Stamping.

#20. Maintain a Knitting Blog well enough to meet the standards of a Webring.
Well, I've kinda fallen off the knitting bandwagon. You can see my most recent post, I think I'm on vacation, where I describe how Christmas just plain wore me out! But I have been working harder on my stamping blog. The "Stamping Top 50" has me currently listed as number 188 in their listing. Now, that is very cool.

Update including 12, 25, 44, 56, 58, 59, 75 and 81.

I've been on an internet respite over the holiday season, so I have a lot to update:

#12. Obtain a digital camera.
Thank you to my in-laws for making this dream a reality.
#25. Crochet one project.
Made a scarf for a relative for Christmas.
#44. Take Travis and Bug sailing on Mom's boat.
We went sailing over Thanksgiving.
#56. Own a simple dinning room table and four chairs.
We thank my brother-in-law for his generosity towards us this year as well. Yes, it was a merry Christmas.
#58. Buy new blue dinner bowls. & #59. Expand the blue dish collection.
These two will have to be changed, seeing as after Christmas I now have an elegant set of dishes for 12. This means that one of my unofficial 101 in 1001 can be fulfilled: Set a table at next year's Ladies' Christmas Breakfast.
#75. Re-read "Pride and Prejudice."
I completed this when I was laid up with morning sickness.
#81. Fix monitor...or get a new one.
Our monitor finally died and some friends were gracious enough to lone us their back up one for as long as we need it.

14. Photos, 25. Crochet.

#14. Develop your favorite digital prints that are still on the computer.
Last night we went to Staples to get a new printer cartridge. For less than the price of two new cartridges, we left the store with a new printer that's perfect for printing digital pictures! Wow! This wasn't how I thought I'd complete this task. God had much better plans in mind. ;)
#25. Crochet one project.
I was starting to knit a scarf, but the yarn was making these big blocks of color instead of stripes. So I decided to try to crochet the scarf instead. That way, I could make the chain as long as I desired and run the stripes all the way up and down the length of the project. I'm still not a fan of crochet, though. I don't think that it’s as pretty as knitting is.

73. Words, 98. Desiring God.

#73. Learn the definitions of 50 new words.
I found out there is a LiveJournal Syndication for Dictonary.com's Word of the Day. I added it to my friends page, so that when I see a word that strikes my fancy, I can memorize it.
#98. Finish "Desiring God."
I picked this book up again today for the first time in at least a year. I'm on chapter 4 of 10. I've also been reading The Imitation of Christ (No. 93) in my quiet time each day. That's a powerful little book.

18. DPNs, 19. Socks, 64. Reading, 91. Exercise.

#18. Learn to knit with DPNs.

#19. Knit a pair of socks.
DONE!

I'm doing both at the same time by making a cozy Christmas present. I like Double Pointed Needles. They are tricky, but fun to use. And I've already completed most of the tube of the first sock!
#28. Learn how to cook artichokes.
DONE!

We had one in our pasta dish last night. I trimmed it up and steamed it for 25 minutes. Couldn't really taste just one, though. It was a lot of trouble, so I think I'll stick to canned artichoke from now on.
#64. Finish "The Well-Trained Mind."
DONE!

I think will be using a customized version of Classical Education for the Bug's homeschooling. I liked the layout of the school years (repeating history every four years, three times over twelve years of schooling) and the goal of raising your children to be critical thinkers who examine original sources.
#91. Lose those last 15 pounds from being pregnant.
In Progress: I discovered that while our library charges for some videos, exercise videos are free for 21 days! I worked out yesterday. And now I'm all sore...but it's a good thing.

15. Photos, 87. Stampin' Up!

#15. Organize old pictures by the seasons of your life.
In Progress: Today, while looking for a pack of pictures from the Bug's first two months, I sorted through a stack of photos that covered my life when I was single in Tennessee. I organized them and tossed out the ones I wouldn't miss. Now what's left is the rest of my life.
#87. Pray for a way to start a new customer base for Stampin' Up! in Baltimore.
In Progress: It looks like I will be having a workshop the first week of November! I'm very excited at the very idea of it.

17. Knitting, 85. Credit Cards, 86a. Charts

#17. Learn to knit in the round.
DONE!

I think I can safely say that I have learned how to do this now. I've been working on a project for a relative's Christmas present and It's turning out great! I really enjoy knitting in the round.
#85. Close all open credit cards that have no balance.
DONE!

I only closed one out of our two open cards, but that was a new decision we made, so technically, this number should be marked as over and done.
#86a. Draft e-mail and post to SCS, INKredible, and INKblots.
DONE!

So far, I have seven ladies signed up. I just need 13 more. :)

94. Lamentations

#94. Read Lamentations.
DONE!

Friday, October 14, 2005

86. Product Charts

#86. Make a list of supplies needed for second round of Product Charts.

DONE!

I drafted eight new charts that I hope other Stampin' Up! Demonstrators will be interested in. I've already sent the list off to the 34 people who bought my first set of charts. My next step is:

#86a. Draft e-mail and post to SCS, INKredible, and INKblots.

For these new people, I will be offering one or two sets of basic charts from my first round just in case these customers would like to have them.

Hopefully all this work will help us to pay off our debts even sooner.

0. Done!

I've finished #0 on my 101 things list...I've finished the actual list of the 101 things I want to do in 1001 days! And four days early, too. I had given myself until October 15th. This feels great!

May God bless my efforts and may all these things be good pursuits that bring Him glory. :)
